uWink Hollywood Brings New Level of Food and Fun to Hollywood & Highland Entertainment Complex on Tuesday, June 17

Grand Opening Weekend Activities for Unique Interactive Restaurant Concept Held Friday, June 27 Sunday, June 29

uWink (OTCBB:UWKI), an interactive dining experience serving classic American comfort food with a modern twist, opens its doors to a brand new location today at the famous Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood, California. Following the success of the first location in Woodland Hills, Nolan Bushnell, former CEO and founder of both Atari and Chuck E. Cheese, now brings his groundbreaking concept to Hollywood! There will be special events and prizes throughout the official grand opening weekend being held on Friday, June 27 through Sunday, June 29. A portion of the proceeds from Saturday, June 28 sales will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Hollywood.

At uWink, guests order all of their food and drink via touch screen terminals on each table and can use those terminals to play digital games while they wait for their food to be delivered. Open for lunch, dinner and late-night noshing, seven days a week, uWink has created a menu to satisfy all tastes, featuring favorites like a BBQ Bacon Burger and Baja Fish Tacos and more sophisticated fare, like tender Braised Short Ribs and Pan-seared Salmon. An extensive wine list, microbrew beer on tap and tasty signature cocktails enhance the experience, making uWink an ideal destination for a delicious meal, or a fun night out on the town.

Occupying a 7,300 square foot space on the fourth level of the Hollywood & Highland entertainment complex, uWink’s welcoming design features warm dark woods accented by light green walls. Large wall projections throughout the entire restaurant display revolving dynamic imagery, allowing the restaurant to change vibes at a moment’s notice. Word games, memory games, trivia games, and even the classic Truth or Dare are designed to encourage friendly competition, laughter, and conversation, and group gamers will love to play Speed Unscramble or Trivia Live as a team competing against other restaurants guests. The new location is perfect for special events or gaming contests and uWink can even prepare customized content for private parties.

uWink Hollywood has added exciting new features to its second location that guests won’t find at the Woodland Hills, California setting. uWink’s Hollywood location is the first in the United States to install and operate the iBar from Mindstorm, a 12 ft long interactive multi-touch bar. This ground-breaking surface literally brings the bar top to life, letting uWink customers use fingers, hands and drink glasses to conjure up digital flora and fauna, digitally paint the bar top, play a game of pong and ultimately order food and drinks from uWink’s digital menu. Mindstorm has a growing footprint in Europe and Asia, and has previously developed cutting-edge interactive multi-touch surface implementations for major companies worldwide, including Microsoft, Google, Chanel and BMW. Mindstorm’s solutions allow for a great degree of flexibility in terms of design of both hardware shape and size as well as software functionality.

“Our new iBar installation at uWink Hollywood showcases a practical and compelling application of surface technology in a truly exciting retail food environment,” said Kenneth Siber, co-founder Mindstorm. “Not only will our surface technology add a new dimension to uWink's interactive dining experience, it is a true point of differentiation and we believe it will prove an irresistible draw at the world’s latest and most fashionable venues."

Also customers at uWink Hollywood will be able to play “uWink Live” with cell phone integration. uWink has partnered with MegaPhone, the world's only phone call controlled game company to provide the ability to use either a cell phone or the uWink terminal to compete against other uWink customers. These games run on big screens, and players join in by calling a phone number that appears on screen. By pressing buttons on their phone, players use their phone as a video game controller. The MegaPhone platform is completely ubiquitous as it works on any cell phone, on any carrier, in any country.

"We're super excited about powering phone call controlled games in the uWink chain of restaurants,” said MegaPhone founder and CCO Jury Hahn. “Nolan is largely responsible for the existence of a company like ours, both in spirit and technology. His pioneering work in video games, from 30 years ago and continuing to today, has provided the inspiration and environment for us to establish our alternative gaming company. Also, how can you resist a restaurant where you can order a Coke, but hold the ice, using a touch screen?"

uWink Hollywood will also showcase new 3D gesture recognition technology from Softkinetic. Their gesture-based technology will be featured in a variety of applications including the entrance of uWink’s Hollywood & Highland restaurant where guests can play an interactive game using their bodies to control the action.

“Softkinetic’s gesture recognition technology is set to transform the way consumers interact with the digital world and our technology and applications are a perfect complement to uWink’s interactive restaurant experience,” said Michel Tombroff, CEO, Softkinetic.

A new addition to uWink’s unique technology is the ability to view the menu on the terminals in multiple languages; uWink Hollywood customers can choose to view the menu in Spanish Korean, Italian, German, or French. And coming soon will be the addition of Chinese and Japanese languages.

“We are excited to be bringing our unique combination of food and fun to this premiere location in the entertainment mecca of Hollywood,” said Nolan Bushnell, chief executive officer of uWink. “We believe that uWink’s lively atmosphere and great food will establish the restaurant as a hot spot for tourists as well as a local favorite.”

uWink Hollywood is open seven days a week serving lunch, dinner, late night snacks and cocktails Sunday - Thursday from 11:00 am to midnight, and Friday – Saturday from 11:00 am to 2:00 am. The restaurant is located on the fourth level of the Hollywood & Highland complex at 6801 Hollywood Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90028. Parking is available in the Hollywood & Highland structure for a fee. uWink can accommodate validation of parking structure tickets good for a reduced fee of $2 for up to four hours parking.
